Vision
The S.W.I.S.H.,
Program will always be dedicated to building children’s confidence.
We will provide the highest level of instruction to our students by
cultivating an environment that encourages sportsmanship and hard
work. We understand the responsibilities we are given, and will
exceed the expectations of our participants.
S.W.I.S.H.,
Start with Instruction, Sportsmanship, and Hardwork, is a
skills and fundamentals basketball program for children ages five
and up. The goals of the program are to develop the child’s
basketball skills, while building self-esteem and confidence, and to
stress sportsmanship and hardwork. All of which are needed to be
successful in a child’s development.
S.W.I.S.H.
was founded in December 2006 by Mark McDonnell with the help of his
wife, Shannon. Mark, his wife, and their five children moved to
Phoenixville, PA in April 2006 from Hollidaysburg, PA. Mark was the
Elementary Basketball Director for the Hollidaysburg Area School
District from 1995-2005. He graduated from St. Francis University
with a degree in Elementary Education. He has also taught in the
public school system. With a strong passion for teaching and love
for the game of basketball, Mark designed the S.W.I.S.H.
Program to reach out to the children of the community to teach a
game that starts with instruction, teaches sportsmanship, and
instills hard work.
